Product Development Specialist

Duties & Responsibilities

Summary:
The Product Development Specialist will manage the entire product life cycle from strategic planning and development to the creation of market-ready products for the organization.

Essential duties and responsibilities:
• Conduct comprehensive market analysis to understand competition trends.
• Establish competitive baselines around customer experience, product positioning and pricing.
• Complete the product style guide and design guidelines for each product.
• Work with ImOn technology teams and vendors through product technical design, development and testing.
• Review marketplace developments, intelligence channels and competitors to identify opportunities and ensure proper product positioning in the ImOn market.
• Work with strategy, finance and management teams to develop a business plan for all new products.
• Lead new product development and existing product enhancement or repositioning projects.
• Ensure that sales, operations, marketing, finance, service/install, and customer care are engaged through the product development cycle and ensure all are prepared for deployment of new products.
• Closely manage vendor and other third-party relationships through discovery and development processes with regard to new products.
• Anticipate problems and complications and formulate solutions so as to not impede the progress of projects.
• Complete a market positioning document and related go-to-market support materials with marketing department to support sales and customer service.

Other duties and responsibilities:
• Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures.
• Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skills.


Qualifications

• 3+ years of product development experience working in telecommunications industry.
• Excellent knowledge of technology environments, including telecommunications, networks, programming, and media. IP (Internet Protocol) , VoIP(Voice over Internet Protocol), IPTV (Internet Protocol Television), HFC (Hybrid Fiber Coax), FTTH (Fiber to the Home)
• Exposure to business theory, business processes, management, budgeting, and business office operations.
• Excellent understanding of project management principles.
• Proven experience in planning, organization and development.
• Demonstrate ability to apply technology solutions to business problems.
• Must be familiar with a variety of field concepts, practices, and procedures.
• Rely on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
• Proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.
• Proven leadership ability.
• Ability to set and manage priorities.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Strong tactical skills.
• Ability to articulate ideas to both technical and non-technical addresses.
• Exceptionally self-motivated and directed.
• Keen attention to detail.
• Superior analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities.
