Here are some of the organizations we have supported recently:

Cedar Valley Humane Society

ImOn Communications has started a collection for the Cedar Valley Humane Society.  We will be collecting newspapers as well as needed items from the Humane Society Wish List.  If you would like to help give back to this great LOCAL agency, items can be dropped off now through May 31st at ImOn's headquarters located in downtown Cedar Rapids in the Great America Building - 625 First Street SE, First Floor, during normal business hours.

Click here to view their current wish list.

Founded in 1901, the Cedar Valley Humane Society helps place thousands of animals into new adoptive homes and returns hundreds of lost pets to their owners every year.  Not affiliated with any other agency or organization, they rely solely on private donations for everything they do.

United Way Day of Caring 2012

On May 10th ImOn Communications donated time and material to two agencies in need of wiring for phone, Internet or cable TV, as part of United Way's Day of Caring 2012.  Eight ImOn technicians volunteered their time and helped install wiring at Jane Boyd Community House and St. John of the Cross Catholic Worker House.

Around 12,000 volunteers from 54 companies participated and helped 44 agencies complete 85 projects.  A lot of work was completed, and many local businesses helped make a difference for our community.  Thanks to all who participated!

Waypoint's May Baskets for the Homeless

Thanks to the generous donations from ImOn customers and employees we were able to donate three tubs full of needed items to Waypoint Services, May Baskets for the Homeless.  Thank you to everyone who helped ImOn make a difference for this great local organization.  Kindness, Pass it On with ImOn.

Waypoint Services provides shelter and support for those in crisis due to homelessness, poverty, domestic violence, or sexual assault in Linn, Benton, and Jones counties.

ImOn Employees Help Escort WWII Veterans

Three ImOn employees proudly rode with the Warrior's Watch Riders, who helped escort WWII veterans from Marshalltown to Cedar Rapids as they prepared to take part in the Honor Flight to Washington D.C.  There was a send off parade Monday in Marshalltown, where people lined the streets to honor the veterans at the beginning of their journey.  Anyone on Highway 30 saw a mile long procession of motorcycles, Corvettes, and police cars as they were escorted to Cedar Rapids where they flew out of the Cedar Rapids Airport Tuesday morning.  They will spend the day in Washington D.C. touring war memorials before returning to Cedar Rapids  around 10:15.  Click here to learn more about the Honor Flight.

ImOn Donates to Cedar Valley Humane Society

ImOn's Customer Care Department proudly donated $250.00 to the Cedar Valley Humane Society.  After meeting their March goals, the staff decided instead of receiving a reward, they would make a donation to a local organization.  ImOn's Customer Care Department works hard every day to provide excellent customer service for our customers, this is another way they show how much they care about the community ImOn serves.

"The Customer Care group was passionate about giving to the Humane Society and their giving won't stop with this.  They are working on other ways to stay involved with the organization.  I couldn't be more proud of this team!" Chelsey McDill--Manager Customer Care

Founded in 1901, the Cedar Valley Humane Society helps place thousands of animals into new adoptive homes and returns hundreds of lost pets to their owners every year.  Not affiliated with any other agency or organization, they rely solely on private donations for everything they do.

Cards for Chance

ImOn collected and mailed almost 80 Christmas cards for Chance Franck, a Hopkinton boy who has been ill at U of I Hospitals and Clinics. Before slipping into a coma on November 22, he told his parents that his Christmas wish was to receive 300 Christmas cards. He has since woken up and is at home recovering with his family and lots of Christmas card greetings!

Cell Phones for Soldiers

With the help from our customers and employees, ImOn has collected 57 Cell Phones for Soldiers. The donated cell phones are sold to a company that recycles them, and the money received from the recycled phones is used to purchase calling cards which are given to troops to call home.

Tanager Adopt a Family

ImOn adopted a family this holiday season with Tanager Place and collected gifts for an entire family. Employees and staff enthusiastically shopped and wrapped presents for the family to open Christmas morning.

"This is a great way to make Christmas a little brighter for a family who is less fortunate." - Jeff Janssen, Director of Sales and Marketing.

Angel of Giving Tree

During the holiday season ImOn and KHAK helped children in need in our community through the Angel of Giving Tree program. This program benefits hundreds of at-risk children served through HACAP. Consider joining ImOn in participating in the 2011 Angel of Giving Tree. It's easy to give, just pick an angel off the tree located in the ImOn offices - 625 1st St SE, first floor of the Great America Building in downtown Cedar Rapids before December 10.

Meals on Wheels

Once a month ImOn employees deliver hot, nutritious meals to older adults with Horizons Meals on Wheels.

ImOn believes in giving back to the community we serve and volunteering with Meals on Wheels is a great way to do that. ImOn employees who have never volunteered before discovered the power of giving back through connecting with the recipients of these meals. This has been such a rewarding experience for our employees.

"This was a great volunteer experience and opened my eyes to how easy it is to give back to the community I live and work in. Being able to give back like this is so rewarding.

The people we delivered to were so thankful. It  made me realize how much of a difference one meal could make to someone. It wasn’t just the food either; it was knowing that someone cared about their well being.

Even after volunteering only once to deliver meals, I could see how much of an impact it made on the local community, and we can’t wait to volunteer again."
