The required change to 10-digit dialing in eastern Iowa occurred this past Sunday, October 24th. ALL calls will now require you to dial an area code plus the 7-digit telephone number.
Calls that do not include an area code will not be completed. Instead, a recording will inform you that your call cannot be completed as dialed. If you receive this recording, you must hang up and dial again using the area code plus the 7-digit telephone number.
Just a reminder that all PSAP equipment, HPBX (UCaaS) desk phone hotkeys, speed dialers and call forwarding equipment which are currently programmed to dial only 7-digits need to be reprogrammed to dial 10-digits for all local calls.
