Danville Telecom, a leading fiber-to-the-premises Internet service provider serving Henry, Des Moines, and Lee counties, announced today that it has entered into a definitive agreement to become a wholly owned subsidiary of ImOn Communications, a rapidly growing broadband provider based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The transaction is subject to customary regulatory approvals.
Founded in 1901 as Danville Mutual Telephone Company, Danville Telecom delivers 100% fiber-optic telecommunications services to residential and business customers in Danville and Wever. Through its subsidiary iConnectYou, the company also provides customized broadband for businesses in Burlington, Fort Madison, Keokuk, Montrose, and West Burlington.
ImOn Communications, established in 2007, has become a premier provider of fiber-based Internet, TV, and phone services across Iowa. Earlier this year, ImOn announced plans to construct new fiber infrastructure in five Southeast Iowa communities. The acquisition of Danville Telecom will enable ImOn to build upon Danville’s existing fiber assets and more rapidly expand next-generation services to both homes and businesses in Burlington, Fort Madison, and Keokuk.
“Joining forces with ImOn Communications marks an exciting new chapter for Danville Telecom and an opportunity to deepen our investment in the communities we’ve proudly served for generations,” said Gena Parsons, Chief Operating Officer of Danville Telecom. “Fiber-optic technology represents the future of Internet connectivity, and we’re eager to broaden access to fast, reliable service across Southeast Iowa—all while remaining rooted in our local heritage.”
“ImOn and Danville Telecom share a common mission—to deliver exceptional network performance and customer service while supporting the communities where we live and work,” said Patrice Carroll, President and CEO of ImOn Communications. “We’re thrilled to welcome the Danville team and look forward to working together to bring state-of-the-art fiber connectivity to more residents and businesses throughout Southeast Iowa.”
The transaction is expected to close in 2025, following receipt of all required approvals. Dentons Davis Brown PC served as the exclusive advisor to Danville Telecom. ImOn was advised by Shuttleworth & Ingersoll, PLC, and Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP.
