Construction of ImOn Communications’ 100% fiber Internet network in Southeast Iowa is now complete, connecting nearly 30,000 homes and businesses in Burlington, West Burlington, Fort Madison, Mount Pleasant, and Keokuk.
The completed network delivers ultra-reliable fiber Internet service with speeds up to 1 Gbps for homes and 10 Gbps for businesses.
Construction began in March of 2025 in Burlington and West Burlington and concluded in December with the completion of Mount Pleasant, representing a $38.6 million investment in future-ready broadband infrastructure for the region.
“This was our most ambitious expansion project in company history,” said ImOn President and CEO Patrice Carroll. “Building fiber Internet infrastructure in five communities in one year is no small feat—but this infrastructure will serve these communities for decades to come, with strong, reliable service and the potential for even more speed in the future to keep up with growing technology demands. To our new Southeast Iowa customers: thank you for choosing ImOn, and welcome to the fiber family.”
During this expansion, ImOn also acquired Danville Telecom, a fiber-optic telecommunications and broadband provider in the area since 1901. The Danville office now serves as ImOn’s main hub in Southeast Iowa, providing technician support, network maintenance, and customer support to the surrounding communities.
“We’ve proudly served this area for generations, and we’re excited to serve even more homes and businesses now through this expansion and acquisition,” said Gena Parsons, Vice President and General Manager of Southeast Iowa. “We’re growing our local team accordingly, too, to continue providing the highest quality customer support to our new, larger customer base.”
In addition to Southeast Iowa, ImOn also provides fiber Internet service in six other metro areas across three states: Cedar Rapids metro, Iowa City metro, Dubuque metro, Sioux City metro (Iowa, Nebraska, South Dakota), Clinton metro, and Marshalltown.
