ImOn Communications Expands 100% Fiber Internet Network to Superior, Wisconsin, and Duluth, Minnesota in Spring 2026

Back to News

ImOn Communications, a leading provider of high-speed Internet services across the Midwest, is expanding its 100% fiber Internet network to Superior, Wisconsin, and Duluth, Minnesota, bringing multi-gig speeds to the Great Lakes region for the first time.

The new fiber Internet network provides homes and businesses with the fastest, most reliable Internet technology available, supported by a dedicated local team based in the Great Lakes region. It introduces upload and download speeds up to 5 Gbps for homes and 10 Gbps for businesses as well as fiber-based phone service.

Construction begins in both Superior and Duluth this spring, pending favorable weather conditions, and will continue throughout 2026.

“As technology advances, Internet infrastructure must keep pace,” said ImOn President and CEO Patrice Carroll. “For too long, the Great Lakes region has been served by outdated Internet technology that can’t meet the demands of modern households and businesses. ImOn’s 100% fiber Internet network will deliver the speed, capacity, and reliability the Superior and Duluth communities need to stay connected, not only in today’s world, but for years to come.”

ImOn collaborated with city officials during the early planning phase and network design. The ImOn team will communicate with residents when work begins in their area.

Founded in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, in 2007, ImOn’s service area has grown rapidly over the last decade. ImOn now serves seven metro areas across three states: Cedar Rapids metro, Iowa City metro, Dubuque metro, Sioux City metro (Iowa, Nebraska, South Dakota), Clinton metro, Marshalltown, and many rural communities across Southeast Iowa. The Great Lakes region marks ImOn’s eighth metro area with fiber Internet service and the company’s first fiber network in both Wisconsin and Minnesota.
