ImOn Communications Launches Fiber Internet Service in Duluth and Superior, Connecting First Customers

Back to News

ImOn Communications announced today that fiber Internet service is now officially live in Duluth, Minnesota, and Superior, Wisconsin, with the first customers already connected to the new network.

ImOn began fiber Internet construction in both Duluth and Superior in June. The network is being constructed in sections, with multiple sections in progress simultaneously. Construction is complete and service is now active in the first section of each community—approximately 1,000 total addresses—delivering symmetrical speeds of up to 5 Gig for homes and 10 Gig for businesses.

The ImOn team gave special recognition to Carter Nelson, the first Duluth resident to have ImOn Fiber Internet installed, and Terry Lillo, the first Superior resident to have ImOn Fiber Internet installed.

“Carter and Terry are not only ImOn’s first customers in their communities—they are ImOn’s first customers in Minnesota and Wisconsin, respectively,” said Kirby Underberg, Vice President and General Manager of the Great Lakes Region.  “It was exciting for our team to personally welcome them to ImOn and mark an important milestone in our expansion into the Twin Ports.”

New customer installations are happening daily in neighborhoods where service is available. Residents will continue to see construction crews in the area as work continues across both communities.

“We are excited to welcome our first customers in Duluth and Superior,” said Patrice Carroll, President and CEO of ImOn Communications. “The Twin Ports deserve fast, reliable Internet with the speed and capacity to support how people live, work, and connect today—and well into the future. We are proud to begin delivering that experience and look forward to making ImOn Fiber available to more homes and businesses as construction continues.”
