ImOn Communications is excited to announce that Kirby Underberg has been appointed to the company’s leadership team as Vice President and General Manager of the Great Lakes Region.
Recently, ImOn Communications announced the expansion of their 100% fiber Internet network to Superior, Wisconsin, and Duluth, Minnesota. In this role, Mr. Underberg will spearhead ImOn’s entry into this new market, establishing regional partnerships and laying the foundation for long-term growth.
Mr. Underberg has worked in the telecommunications industry in the Midwest for the entirety of his 30-year career. Most recently, he served as COO of Socket Fiber in Columbia, Missouri. Prior to that, Mr. Underberg was the President and CEO of Chariton Valley, a telecommunications company in Northeast Missouri.
“We are thrilled to welcome Kirby to the ImOn leadership team,” said Patrice Carroll, President and CEO of ImOn Communications. “His extensive experience in the telecom industry and his track record as a leader for companies undergoing fiber expansions will be invaluable as we establish our network in two new communities and two new states.”
Founded in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, in 2007, ImOn’s service area has grown rapidly over the last decade. ImOn now serves seven metro areas across three states: Cedar Rapids metro, Iowa City metro, Dubuque metro, Sioux City metro (Iowa, Nebraska, South Dakota), Clinton metro, Marshalltown, and many rural communities across Southeast Iowa. The Great Lakes region marks ImOn’s eighth metro area with fiber Internet service.
