In May 2025, ImOn Communications launched ImOn Fiber in Southeast Iowa, connecting the first customer to its state-of-the-art fiber Internet network in Burlington. Now, the company is celebrating one year of ImOn Fiber in the Greater Burlington area, reinforcing its commitment to expanding fiber Internet access and building community partnerships.
Construction of ImOn’s Burlington and West Burlington fiber-to-the-premise Internet network began in March 2025 and was completed by late August. The network comprises 150 miles (795,000 linear feet) of fiber cables and connects nearly 14,000 homes and businesses to ultra-reliable Internet. It also represents an $18 million investment in future-ready infrastructure for the Greater Burlington area.
During this time, ImOn acquired Danville Telecom, a fiber-optic telecommunications and broadband provider in the area since 1901. This acquisition allows ImOn to better serve Greater Burlington and Southeast Iowa, providing truly local customer support and network maintenance.
In addition to investing in infrastructure, ImOn invested $73,000 in the Burlington community over the past year through sponsorships, partnerships with local organizations and nonprofits, and the installation of free Wi-Fi in popular public spaces. Over the past year, ImOn has implemented free public Wi-Fi along the Burlington Riverfront and at the Burlington Regional Rec Plex, keeping customers and the community connected, even when they are on the go.
“We’re excited to celebrate one year in the Burlington community,” said Patrice Carroll, President and CEO of ImOn Communications. “This milestone is about far more than building a network—it’s about supporting local families, businesses, and organizations with the connectivity they need to grow and thrive. Over the past year, we’ve been proud to put down roots in Burlington, build meaningful relationships, and give back to the community. We’re grateful to be part of the fabric of Burlington and West Burlington, and we look forward to serving and supporting the community for many years to come.”
